Steve Wynn Vents About Stimulus Plan

Casino-resort magnate Steve Wynn is so unhappy with President Barack Obama’s stimulus plan that he vented about it on stage in Los Angeles, Tuesday, to a ballroom filled with corporate, financial, scientific and academic experts. The plan fails to create jobs fast enough and it failed to help one of America’s biggest employers — the hospitality industry, he said.

“The only thing that should have mattered was job creation,” said Wynn. “If you put an intelligent manager in charge of the government, he would know that job formation would be the first thing to fix, not a bunch of crap like infrastructure projects which take a lot of drawings and a lot of lead time.”

He asserted that Obama and the Congress drafted a stimulus package that caters to farmers and state legislatures. Wynn also complained that too much money was going to banks and automobile manufacturers.

“The hospitality industry is much bigger than the car industry,” Wynn said. He added that it employs the kind of people the Obama administration claims it wants to help — waitresses and hotel workers and cooks.
